5 Months

 - Has been working on rolling over and mastered it the day of her 5 month birthday
- Working on sitting up and can hold it for a few seconds as a time
- Loves to chew on everything
- Going through an intense drooling stage
- Loves to be wherever mom is and watch what she is doing
- Loves when Daddy comes home and really enjoys playing with him
- Weaned herself this month
- Wakes up at 12:30, 3 and 6:30 a.m. to eat. We are hoping to kick this habbit. :)
- Loves to go to story time at the library and sing the nursery rhymes and songs.
- Loves watching toddlers and kids. Sometimes we go listen to the primary kids sing when she can't be quiet during Relief Society.
- Is pretty social and enjoys other people.
- A great talker
- Was 15 lbs. 9 oz. (66%) , 25 1/4" Tall (66%), and 42 1/2 cm (86%) at her 4 month appointment (she was closer to 5 months than 4 at this time)
- Started eating solids a few days before her 5 month birthday
- Loves to drink from a glass
- A Joy and a Blessing every day.

Natalie's first time swimming was while visiting my parents in July. She never smiled, but also didn't cry. Overall, I think she enjoyed it.

 Sunday's are hard. Church is right during Natalie's nap time. This is after church in July. She has to sleep between to pillows or she is constantly waking up. I especially love the sock that is falling off her foot.

Washington County Fair

Since we have moved here we have made an effort to go support a young man in our ward at the Washington County Fair. He always has pigs and a weaving project he displays at the fair, this year he expanded and showed pigmy goats. Justin was unable to attend with us do to work commitments, but Natalie and I had a great time going during the day and watching Clayton show.

She smiles and smiles at him and loves to get his attention. The other night Justin would give her a kiss and she seemed to be returning it with a wide open slobbery mouth to his cheek.

The Weekend

This is how our Saturday morning started.

After this beautiful little girl and some good chatting with Justin I got to go for a run. It made the weekend complete.

Burning Dinner

The tool Justin used to beat out large flames coming out of our BBQ grill last Saturday.
Lack of patience is never a good thing.
I was making dinner for the missionaries.
Instead of waiting for Justin to come home to cook the bacon and hamburgers like he said he would,
I started them.
Our BBQ had recently had a few flames bursting from its sides because it had some extra debris it needed rid of.
It was never cleaned and I threw the bacon right on the flames.
Grease = Big Fire.
I was calling Justin telling him to HURRY home,
while dancing around and poking my head out side to see if the flame died down any,
while also trying to decide if I should grab Natalie and make a run for it.
All I could imagine was the whole apartment complex burning to the ground because of me.
Justin arrived shortly after the phone call.
He ran up the three flight of stairs expecting to see human size flames.
He didn't think the flames were actually that impressive or scary and quickly beat them out with old jeans.
The missionaries laughed at me later too.
I now know how to put out a BBQ grease fire, so I got it covered next time it happens.

Natalie has become the center piece at our evening meal. She refuses to be anything less, unless she is given the option of sitting on our laps. She sure loves tasting anything and everything she can get in her mouth. The middle picture really captures her drooling stage. Last week we started her on solid foods. She thinks they are pretty cool. So far she has tasted oatmeal and sweet potato. Originally I planned to wait until she was six months old. However after accessing her personality and my pediatricians go ahead we decided to go for it. So far it has worked out well. It was a good experience to realize that being a parent requires flexibility and meeting the needs of my child rather than the plan in my head. Aren't here eyes adorable?

Similar?

I always thought it was cute when people posted pictures of their children doing something that looked similar to a picture of themselves from the past. I never thought I would get one though. A few Sundays ago I snapped this and was surprised at the similar setting as I was oh say 24 years ago. Funny thing about it, Natalie even sucks on her bottom lip like I am in this picture.
