Natalie and I went for a lovely visit to Ontario for the last two weeks of August.
Justin had to be gone to South Dakota for a work trip so we went to Grandma's.
It was relaxing, rejuvenating, and a lot of work.
Somehow the fields with rows of green crops in them gives strength to my soul.
We worked for the first three and a half days straight canning.
Nat wasn't such a fan of this as she had to entertain herself often.
She is a little co-dependent right now....LOL
The canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce and green beans are going to be wonderful this winter.
Nat enjoyed grandma, the fresh air, the huge lawn to sit on, and grandma's new dog Tux.
We didn't enjoy the hot hot weather and the hords of mosquitoes
That is why only the toughest live in the dessert.
We are slowly becoming wimpy westerners, hahaha, just kidding.
We also played with my sisters and their kids and went to an onion field day.
I wore flip flops and part of the field day was in an onion field.
Whoops, I kind of felt like a dum dum city girl.
Better attire next time.
We saw lots of friends and ate a lot of yummy food, especially sweet corn.
My parents were fabulous hosts and put up with baby toys everywhere and canning mess for several days.
I love my family but missed being with my husband and together as our little family.
It was sure great to pick Justin up from the airport on our second Saturday there.
Two weeks is far two long.
He is a hard working man and I am so grateful for his example and love.
Bring on the Fall now.

What a fun trip! And isn't canning the best? As in, a ton if work and completely exhausting, but so rewarding??
